A fresh new dining experience has arrived at nearby Fortune Bay Resort Casino — and it’s already drawing rave reviews.
The newly opened Aki Bistro officially welcomed guests with a ribbon cutting celebration and a packed dining room as visitors gathered to experience Fortune Bay’s newest culinary destination.
Guests at the soft opening quickly discovered favorites like bacon-wrapped shrimp, lobster bisque, blackened salmon risotto, and perfectly grilled ribeye steaks. Since then, the expanded menu has introduced even more Northwoods-inspired flavors including wild rice crusted walleye, lobster mac and cheese, bison meatloaf, steak flatbread, filet mignon, and handcrafted burgers topped with smoked jalapeño aioli.
The full bar features signature cocktails like the Lake Vermilion Old Fashioned and the Wild Rice Honey Sour, with craft beers arriving on tap soon.
“Aki” comes from the Ojibwe language, meaning earth or land — a fitting name for a restaurant rooted in the flavors and spirit of northern Minnesota.
And there’s more to come. Fortune Bay will soon open the Mino Grill, serving breakfast favorites, burgers, wood-fired pizzas, wraps, sandwiches, and comforting Northwoods classics all day long.
